do you mean Dell XPS? Seeing as you said you have VERY slow loads i'm going to guess not. The problem with upgrading computers is that normaly it's just not worth it, a rig is as strong as it's weakest link (If you are only considering core components). You will need to upgrade your CPU, motherboard, GC and RAM to see dramatic improvements (Which is why many opt for buying new computers).
If you have your mind set on ONLY buying a new graphics card you'll probably encounter 2 problems:
1) the X800 series is PCI-E and therefore requires a specific motherboard and chipset, this is a problem seeing that PCI-E is relatively new and is probably not supported on your motherboard (not to mention Dell Favour NVIDIA chipsets). This will lead you onto buying a new motherboard which can lead to a second problem..
2) Dell arn't fond of the whole idea of upgrading components so they therefore make most of them specificaly for dells (notably the motherboard). They can do this simply by making their cases as unique as possible.
My advice is to simply consider saving for a new rig. It simplifies your problem (even if it may make it slightly more costly).
Hope that helped.
